Donald's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donald "Donny" Lopez, a man of great kindness and generosity, on July 26, 2025. Born on June 12, 1962, Donny lived a life full of warmth, care, and compassion.
Oftentimes referred to as Donny, Donald was a man who preferred to be addressed by his full name. His personality was distinctively kind, polite, sharing, and nurturing. He was an individual who never hesitated to lend a helping hand, thereby embodying his deeply-held principle of kindness and sharing.
Donald is survived by his siblings Alberto, Angel Luis, Rosa J., Julio E., Maria E. and Jose A. Lopez. All nieces and nephews, his loving Parter Myrna Laguna. He was a loving stepfather to Myrna Munoz, and a doting grandfather of Alonzo, Apryl, Amari Clyburn. Also, a special thank you to Michael Southall for being there for him. Donald was predeceased by his brothers Mariano, Ricardo, and Francisco Lopez.
A man of simple joys, Donny was a great lover of Spanish food and beer. His heart resonated with the tunes of 80's music, and cowboy movies were his absolute favorite. He cheered for the Las Vegas Raiders and found joy in the graceful sport of gymnastics.
Donald was a firm believer in staying active and loved to take long, relaxing walks. He had a nurturing side towards animals and fervently supported the cause of the ASPCA. Blue was his favorite color, clearly reflecting his calm and serene nature.
Donald's legacy is one of kindness and generosity. The best lesson he imparted was to share and be kind, a dictum he lived by every single day. In every sense, he was a generous, helpful and kind person, always putting others before himself.
As we mourn the loss of this gem of a person, let's remember to celebrate his extraordinary life and the wonderful memories he leaves behind. Indeed, the world is a little less bright without Donald. May his soul rest in peace.
