Background
Our family is mourning the unexpected and devastating loss of my Grandpa, Donald Johnson. Anyone who knew him knew he loved God, his family, and his Country. He was the best Husband, Father, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa. He was affectionately known as “Pop” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. While his death was untimely, it is comforting to know that he died while doing what he loved. Gram and Pop were vacationing in their RV at the annual Hamfest in Quartzsite, Arizona, a gathering of ham radio enthusiasts and an event they’ve gone to every January for the past 12 years. We are so thankful for Gram and Pop’s ham family who surrounded Gram with love and support, not leaving her side until our family was able to get to her. We are also eternally grateful for the outpouring of love from family and friends who have offered their condolences and support. We’ve created this memorial page so that family and friends can share their memories and photos with us. My grandparents were always there to help anyone in need. If you would like to make a monetary donation to help my Grandma in this very difficult time, anything donated will be used to help offset funeral costs and to bring Pop back home to California. Any donations beyond our goal will be used to assist my Grandma. Thank you so much to everyone in advance for your support!
