Donald Lee Justen Sr., 76, of Sturgis, Michigan, passed away July 17, 2022 in New Port Richey, Florida. He was born January 11, 1946 in Woodstock, Illinois to Donald Michael Justen and Betty Jane Rauen . He is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Justen; his children: Don Justen (Chris), Tricia Biggerstaff (Russ), Tracy Geml (Walter); Kimberly Newland-Kosanke, Lisa Satterelli and Jennifer Harty, nine grandchildren: Jessica, Megan, Valerie, Rowan, Holden, Claire, Logan, Jaicey, and Oakley; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Levi. Don graduated from McHenry High School in 1964. While in high school, Don was a proud member of a large group of friends nicknamed "The Lodge", and continued to attend reunions throughout his life. After high school, Don attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and graduated having attained a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. After college, Don worked as an operations and plant manager in the automotive supply industry for over 30 years, and taught electrical engineering at Jackson Community College.

In his spare time, Don enjoyed many hobbies, like working on cars, restoring his "rat rods," riding his Harley-Davidson, and spending time between his homes on Fish Lake and in Brooksville, Florida. An accomplished amateur pilot, Don had a great love for aviation. An avid reader, Don spent many hours reading books about aviation and history. Also, Don frequently pursued renovation and construction projects that challenged his mind. He was a devout Michigan Wolverines football fan, often attending games with his son. Don enjoyed fishing, riding his bike, telling a good story, and spending time with his family and friends. He loved his grandchildren dearly, and was a very proud Papa.
