Donald's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Donald Holmes Jr. Donald was born on May 25, 1952, in Baltimore, MD and passed away on December 26, 2023. He was a cherished figure to many, and his spirit will continue to live on through the memories he crafted with his loved ones.
Donald leaves behind a loving family; his sister Shelley Bayne, brother Ronald Holmes, along with cherished nieces Ashley Faidley, Brianna Geyer, Martha Holmes, and Holly Lloyd, as well as his nephews John Holmes and Eric Faidley. Donald was a loving great uncle to his 14 nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Donald Holmes Sr. and Annie Holmes, and dear niece Rhonda Holmes Smith, it is comforting to know that they are reunited in the eternal beyond.
Donald was a man of many interests. He proudly graduated from Mergenthaler High School . His love for music was unmatched, with his favorite band being the iconic Rolling Stones. He was a self-taught guitarist and took pride in his accomplishment. Donald always loved to tell stories about the time he was in a band. One of the songs he always mentioned his band would play was "Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones.
Donald was also an admirer of the Orioles, cheering them on whenever he watched the games.
Additionally, Donald enjoyed learning about politics and spent countless hours reading up on current affairs and historical events. He was passionate about politics and often referred to himself as a political enthusiast.
Donald Holmes Jr.'s light may have ceased to shine in this world, but the footprint he's left on the hearts of the people fortunate enough to know him will forever glow. His memory will be remembered with love and affection not just today, but always.
