Donald's obituary
It is with great sadness we announce that Donald "Uncle Don" Campbell stepped into eternity. Donald Herbert Campbell was born on October 3, 1958 in the beautiful parish in Jamaica called Clarendon. It is located on the southside of Jamaica. Clarendon is most famous for the Milk River Bath, a mineral spa famous for the therapeutic value of its water. Donald was considered a Rastafari and ate fish and veggies and drank lots of water. The strong culture that he was born into would allow him to keep home always within his heart although being thousands of miles away until his timely death.
Donal Herbert Campbell transitioned with the Lord on October 12, 2023 in West Palms, Florida.
Known affectionately as Uncle Don, though very few had a preference to call him by his birth name Don. In a time of progression in his loving country of Jamaica many faced great challenges of trying to make a better life for children such as the Campbell family. During that time Donald was raised by his grandmother until a respectable age that his father Leonard would grant him the love and opportunity to make a better life in the United States. His father Leonard was a visionary and a mechanic who taught Donald those skills that would carry him on until his very death. Leonard wanted more for his son and let him know that he can use these methods of mechanical engineering to make a better life outside of his country.
Donald was educated in the Jamaica compulsory school system which is modeled by the British. There he learned to speak English although he continued to use his beautiful Jamaican Patois.
Uncle Don as his family all called him migrated from Jamaica to the United States with his father Leonard Campbell during a period that was not empowering for people of color. This was a very difficult transition to leave from one country to another without having your mother or grandmother watching over you. Despite not having his mother by his side to watch over him and fill him with many strengths that he held until his final passing, Uncle Don was able to persevere. He was able to journey through this life proved him to be a man of quiet strength, grace and a smooth orator, despite his soft-spoken nature.
Donald was highly respected and admired for his immense work ethic. His accomplishments didn't need to be grand or glamorous. Donald found fulfillment in his professional work as an auto painting engineer, a profession where his diligence and dedication were fully demonstrated. His love for this craft was evident as his beautiful artwork was impeccable that came from his tireless efforts. He was a recognized specialist and highly sought after in the auto world!
Donald met the love of his life Brenette Sabedra-Campbell and married her on July 26, 2001 in a private ceremony in Florida. Donald was graced with two biological children Donna and Donald Campbell Jr. whom he was able to see grow into adulthood.
Donald and Brenette was able to join in their union her two beautiful children Sabrina and Corrina whom he was able to raise as his own.
Donald moved to Florida to continue his lifelong passion working in the automotive industry, a role he had proudly held in Jamaica before moving to the United States. He then dedicated years of service to the Reisterstown auto body shop under owner Bob Fisher. He continued this service even after the shop changed hands, eventually being sold to Caliber Collision.
However, the greatest testament to Donald's life is the profound love he cherished for his family. Donald was a quiet man and kept his gifts of always wanting to feel peace and tranquility.
This legacy of love is what he leaves behind, it is yoked in the hearts of his beloved wife, Brenette Sabedra-Campbell, and his beautiful children, hosts of nieces and nephews, and family and friends. His love for them was unwavering and is the legacy that will transcend his death.
The echo of his calming words and the memories of his enduring love will continue to live on in those who loved him.
Predeceased by his parents, Euphemia Campbell and Leonard Campbell, Donald leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory. He is survived by his wife, Brenette Sabedra-Campbell, and his children Donna Campbell, Sabrina Sabedra, Corrina Sabedra, and Donald Campbell Jr. He also leaves behind his beloved niece, Monique Lee whom she cares for his beloved father Leonard & other niece Rashida McDonald.
