Donald Lee Hardy, 78 of Lake Wales, Florida went to be with his Savior and Lord on October 13, 2018 at Florida Hospital, Tampa, Florida. He was married just shy of 58 years to Sue (Tripp) Hardy. They had four children, Kathy married to Mike English, Pam, Kristin married to George Heiges and Don (Gator) with Juana Saenz. Don had eight grandchildren and eleven great grand children. He was in the Army and served two tours in Vietnam where he was injured. He was awarded a purple heart, bronze star and awarded an Army commendation medal. He loved Jesus, his family, fishing and garage sales. He loved to tell stories and always had a smile and a joke, and never met a stranger. He loved to cook and was famous for his mulligan stew, fried rice and fried cabbage.

He was a member of Central Avenue Baptist Church, Lake Wales, FL, where he had served as trustee, deacon and bible study teacher. He loved to cook for the kids at Vacation Bible School. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Maude Hardy, a brother Curt and his twin brother Ron; two sisters Betty and Jane. Surviving are one brother Paul married to Ruth and one sister, Janet Williams.

He loved to wear christian T-shirts and when someone would say, I love your shirt, he would say, I love the man.
