DJ's obituary
In the blink of an eye,
My whole world was shattered into a million pieces and completely changed forever
On August 25, 2024,
My husband, Donald Ralph Goff Jr., passed away...
a loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend
whose unconditional love and devotion will forever be etched in our hearts.
DJ, was born June 2, 1993 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky,
to Donald Ralph Goff and his mother, Wendy Michelle Goff.
My husband left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him.
DJ and I, shared a beautiful love story that was truly one of a kind. Together,
We were inseparable, a bond so strong that it transcended time and circumstance.
We loved each other with every fiber of our beings, without condition.
Our journey was not perfect, but together, we had it all - love, laughter, and adventure. As each other's safe haven, rock, and forever home.
Hand in hand, we navigated life's ups and downs, our love growing stronger with each passing day.
As a father,
DJ's love for our children was boundless.
He was a loving step-dad to Jasper and Emberlynn,
He gave them the greatest gift ever… Their baby sis..
Tragically, DJ's time was cut short, just four days after the arrival of our precious daughter,
Roma Daisy Jayne Goff,
August 20, 2024, at 2:25pm weighing 8lbs 9oz 21 inches long
with a head full of beautiful dark hair,
Roma was not only a dream come true but also his tiny twin, sharing his sparkling eyes and sweetest smile.
Though he never got to hold her in his arms or gaze into her eyes, his love for her palpable. He longed to be a father to create a family of his own, and his heart's desire was finally fulfilled, albeit fleetingly.
DJ's bond with his sisters,
Courtney and Nichole, was unbreakable. Shared countless memories and adventures, always supporting each other through thick and thin. They were his partners in crime, best friends, and guiding lights. Together, they shared a love for life that was contagious, and their laughter still echoes in the hearts of those who loved them.
DJ was a man of many passions and interests. He loved bike riding and enjoyed going to Muay Thai at Lyons Pride. An avid reader, he was always immersed in a book, constantly learning new things.
His love for crime shows and anime was matched only by his talent for playing the guitar. DJ was a true music enthusiast, and his skills on the guitar were remarkable.
He took pride in his work as an industrial painter for John A. Papalas & Co., where he was known for his dedication and hard work.
DJ had a unique love for late-night snacks, often found in the kitchen indulging in his favorites like yogurt with honey, PB-filled pretzels, applesauce cups, cheese sticks, and ice cream. He always made sure there was Simply Made apple juice in the fridge.
He cherished smoothie and coffee dates and had a profound love for walking. He would always choose to walk rather than ask for a ride or Uber. When we lived closer to downtown, we would walk to the park every morning, where he would work out and then play basketball with me.
DJ was truly a man of habit, very particular and sometimes hard-headed, but incredibly intelligent. He was loyal and loved me deeply, but Even though I wasn't always down to walk like he was and I would give anything for another walk with him and trusty side kick…
For eight incredible years,
DJ's loyal companion was his beloved dog, Panda. She was his baby, his adventure buddy, and his constant friend. This little bed hog stole his heart, and he spoiled her rotten, because she was worth it. Panda was always down for his adventures, and he loved her with all his heart, and she loved him.…
DJ was only 31, His struggles with mental health and addiction were a hard constant battle, one that he fought with courage and determination.
Despite his strength, the demons he faced ultimately took him away from us. His passing is a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of seeking help when needed. We must continue to break the silence surrounding mental health and addiction, ensuring that those who struggle receive the support and resources they deserve…
As I mourn the loss of my soulmate, I take comfort in the memories we shared. DJ's family would be grateful for your support and generosity during this difficult time. Donations can be made to assist our newborn baby, Roma, with medical bills, major expenses, and the daunting task of rebuilding our lives without our rock, our shelter, and our guiding light.
Rest in peace, my darling DJ.
Your love, legacy, and memory will never be forgotten. Our daughter, Roma, will grow up knowing how incredible her dad was. Though your time with us was cut short, your impact on our lives will be felt for generations to come.
