Donald's obituary
Donald Gearhart, born on September 19, 1946, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania passed away with friends and family on August 6, 2023 in New Jersey . Donald led a full life, marked by kindness, acceptance, and love. He was a man who finished what he started, teaching this valuable life lesson to all who knew him. He was a strict but fair father who raised his children on his own after the passing of his wife Jo-anne.
He was affectionately known for his love for steak and potatoes, and his favorite tunes were often by Frankie Valley and The Four Seasons and Linda Ronstadt. The Untouchables was his film of choice, and he passionately supported the Philadelphia Eagles and the Phillies. He loved watching performances by Juice Newton and Crystal Gale. Donald also enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren and his service in the Marine Corps in the beautiful islands of Hawaii where his eldest daughter was born.
Donald's kind-hearted nature was apparent in his dedication to causes close to his heart, particularly veteran affairs. His greatest accomplishments included his loving marriage to Jo-anne Gearhart his beautiful wife in 1965 and the births of his children in ,67',68',&70' was his service in the United States Marine Corps.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jo-anne who passed away January 13, 1980, his parents, Doris and Philip Gearhart, his brother Philip Gearhart and his partner Robert Jennings, his sister-in-law, Joann Gearhart, and his grandmother, Hattie Gearhart (Nana). He leaves behind his children, his loving son Donald Gearhart, his estranged daughter Terri Moletitere and eldest daughter Lisa Wiser, his brother Raymond Gearhart, his sons-in-law Kenneth Krupicka-Gearhart, Marshall Wiser and estranged son in law David Moletitere, and his six grandchildren Kelly, Ryan, Marshall, David, Joey, and Trisha. He is also survived by his nine great-grandchildren who will carry on his legacy. Thanks to the Jersey Crew for watching over Pops through the years.
Donald began a fulfilling career at Acme Markets in 1974, which added immense value to his life. He is remembered fondly as someone who did the best that he could with the tools he was given, and his legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.
In Donald's passing, he is finally at peace and in heaven with his wife, Jo-anne, his ancestors and his Maker . The void he leaves behind is immense, but comfort is found in knowing that he lived a life filled with love, joy, acceptance and fulfillment.
