Ted's obituary
Donald Fraser, affectionately known to all as “Ted,” passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, at the age of 59. A man of immense kindness and unwavering devotion, Donald’s life was defined by his love for his family and his gentle, supportive spirit.
Born on March 9, 1966, in Westmoreland, Jamaica, Donald was the son of Rictor and Elfleda Fraser. He grew up in a vibrant, bustling household alongside his ten siblings: Onie, Rodney, Janet, Verley, Michael, Betty, Dolly, Donna, Bunny, and his late sister, Lorna.
Donald attended Caledonia All Age School and Maud Mcleod High School. In Jamaica, he dedicated himself to the land as a farmer before relocating to the United States in 2013. Upon moving to the U.S., he began a career as a security guard for Kingsbrook Jewish Hospital, where his dependable nature and respectful presence were felt by colleagues and patients alike.
To know Donald was to know a man of profound patience and heart. He was the person who always showed up, offering a warm smile that could light up a room and a unique ability to say exactly what was needed to make someone laugh. He found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful things: a good meal, a spirited game of dominoes, and, above all, time spent with those he loved.
Donald’s greatest pride was his family. He was a devoted father to his children: Derron, Trudy, Shelly, Amoy, Nashane, Javonnie, and Kimmoy. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Kimmy, Marilya, Naelah, Skyler, and Jerome.
Donald was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. While he was taken from us far too soon, the impact of his character—kind, loving, and steadfast—will never be forgotten. We will carry his memory with us always, keeping it dear to our hearts.
He is survived by his children, his grandchildren, his siblings, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
