Donald's obituary
Don was born the youngest son in a family of 11 children on March 22, 1953, in Racine County, Wisconsin. He graduated in 1971 from Union Grove High School and soon after began working at In-Sink-Erator manufacturing in Racine, Wisconsin. He married his wife of 53 years, Tamara (Zimmerli), on July 1st, 1972, in Union Grove, Wisconsin. They soon moved to the city of Racine and started their family. Later moving to Rice Lake, Wisconsin where they have resided for 39 years.
Don worked in the manufacturing industry most of his life and retired at Sanmina in Turtle Lake as a machinist. His biggest passions in life were fishing and exploring the natural beauty of the upper Midwest. He was an early advocate of catch and release fishing and like most avid fishermen, loved to share his passion among family and friends.
Don is survived by his wife, Tamara and their 4 children; Tristan Fettes, Mariah (Jason) Melton, Damian Fettes and Erin Fettes and his beloved dog, Twiggy. He is also survived by 4 sisters; Mary Anne Hoffman, Judy (Tom) Adam, Sally Larson, Sue (Bob) Reuss, and one brother; David Fettes. Grandchildren; Bailey (Cord) Hodshire, Isiah Melton, Jesse Melton, Anna Melton, Ily Sheridan. Great grandchild; Jax Hodshire. and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Nicholas and Marie Fettes, brothers; Nick Fettes Jr., Robert Fettes, and Jerry Fettes. sisters; Helen Reesman, and Marlene O'Brien.
A celebration of life will be held at Cumberland senior center
