Donald Dean Downey

Donald Dean Downey, lovingly known as “Renegade,” was born on Tuesday, June 15, 1954, in Atlanta, Missouri, to Ernest Olin Downey and Elizabeth Louise (Perrin) Downey.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold, Richard, and “Lil Ernie” Downey, and his sister, Elaine Hopper.
Donald is survived by his children, Jennifer Downey and Travis Mosley; his grandsons, Allan Lockett and Isaiah Downey; his sister, Linda Stevenson; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Growing up in Atlanta, Donald found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed singing in the school choir, helping his parents around the house, tending to farm chores, and working alongside his father in the family trucking business, Downey Trucking, which later became his career.
Donald spent much of his life on the road as a truck driver, traveling across the United States and doing what he loved. He cherished time with family and friends, whether it was sharing laughs, doing donuts in a parking lot, or creating personalized model cars for the people he held close to his heart. He was known for his infectious laugh and his loving spirit.
His spirit lives on. Fly high, Renegade.
