"Dunnsie" brightened our UMaine days and nights with his indomitable spirit and willingness to try almost anything if it looked like fun! Too many years have passed since I last heard his marvelous, throaty laugh -- particularly remembered as we paddled Class 3+ whitewater on the Machias River one early April day when perhaps we should have been hitting the books. I extend sincere condolences to his family; he was an original, and he'll be missed.

Donnie...a friend, colleague....musician extraordinaire.... So many memories of teaching with Don...but my favorite vision of Donnie...is playing guitar and looking over at him grinning...behind his bass...or drums....or guitar. A great, great, human being... I miss you already, Don.

My heartfelt sympathies to Mr. Dunn’s family. He was a fabulous teacher, man & all around personality. I was in 6th grade the year he came to Libby-Tozier and rarely anyone ever had less than complimentary praises for him. Science fairs, bug collections, passing the live snake around class, teaching me chess and the most infectious, devilish laugh of anyone. RIP Mr Dunn … You leave a huge whole in the universe, sir.
