Personal note from Laila Bertsch

I want to share with you that my dad adopted me and took me and my sister in as his own. His love for us was unconditional and the one problem he had was...he couldn't say "no" to us! My dad was funny and veeerrryyy sophisticated, and that's how I want you to remember him: sophisticated, funny, hard working, and a man of his word. We all have differences and difficulties in our lives, sometimes we can't explain why things happen. What I can say is, we need to love those around us who support us and love us back and even if we don't receive the same from others we must always remember to forgive and find peace in our hearts. I trust my God, and I trust that he put my dad in my life for a reason and that He made sure I was in his life for a reason. May God grant us strength, peace, and healing. Rest easy dad, I know you are in a better place.
