Donald Dwight Bentley
Donald was born in Vilna Alberta on September 8,1948 and passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 5,2020 in Negombo Sri Lanka.
He was the first born of Peter and Ethel Bentley and is survived by his siblings, Marion Salsman and family, Janet (Phil) Brandon and family, Cheryl Bentley and family, Wayne Bentley, Richard Bentley and family and Patricia Wolfram and family.
Donald lived a wonderful life, he had many great friends and travelled the entire world. He enjoyed the finer things in life, had exquisite taste and loved to share his experiences and travel with his siblings whom he loved completely and unconditionally.
Donald also loved and cared for animals that others had mistreated or abandoned, he opened his home,heart and wallet to them and was adored in return.
Donald lived in many wonderful places but Toronto Ontario Canada was home. He was a life long diabetic and suffered all that this terrible disease can throw at a person, yet he never let it define him. His last few years weren't easy ones as his health failed yet his determination to live his best life was inspiring. He lived with the attitude that we should live our lives fully and completely until the end. A lesson we should all strive to live by.
We would like to thank his friend Gomez of Negombo Sri Lanka for his wonderful treatment of our brother both before and after his death, his kindness and generosity of spirit helped to make a difficult time more bearable.
Acting according to Donald's wishes his ashes will be buried privately beside his father and grandmother at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Edmonton Alberta.
