Donald's obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mr. Donald Bassett, a beloved family figure and a man of remarkable wit and jovial nature. Born on June 3, 1933, Mr. Bassett departed us on February 26, 2024, leaving a void in the lives of those he touched.

A warm-hearted and witty man, Mr. Bassett had the ability to light up any room with his humor. His laughter was infectious, and his love for his family was immense. He was a proud grandparent to his grandchildren, Jeremie and Troy Rankin, and Missy Hirn, who were the joy of his life. His unique blend of honesty, charm, and humor will be sorely missed by all.

Mr. Bassett was predeceased by his brother, Jeffery Bassett, and his devoted wife, Janice Burrow. The profound loss of these loved ones marked his life deeply, yet he continued to offer support, love, and care to his family. His strength and resilience were inspirational.

Mr. Bassett proudly served in the Navy, a commitment that he regarded as one of his greatest accomplishments. He was a true patriot who held his duties towards his country close to his heart. His dedication and service will be remembered by all those who knew him.

Mr. Bassett is survived by his loving daughter, Jean Rankin, and his esteemed son-in-law, Brent Rankin. Their love for and support of him especially during his final moments will always be appreciated. His spirit will continue to live on in their hearts and those of his grandchildren.

A celebration of Mr. Bassett's life will be held at a later date, where we will share stories, laughter, and fond memories of his wonderful life. While we mourn his loss, let us also remember the delightful soul who graced our lives with warmth, humor, and love.
