Donald's obituary

Donald Leo Auber, Jr, 62, of Stockbridge, GA, passed away unexpectedly on Feb 22, 2024.

Don was born on May 5, 1961 to Donald Leo Auber, Sr. and Barbara Ann (Mims) Auber in Miami, FL. He graduated from Forest Park High in 1979, and joined the United States Air Force as a Cryptologic Linguist from 1980-1986. Once he returned, he obtained an Associate’s Degree from Clayton State University. Don worked for the Clayton County Board of Education and retired from there in 2016. After a short break, he started a new career at UFCW Unions & Employers Health & Welfare.

He married Joanne Elaine Quick Auber on May 28, 1988, and moved to Stockbridge along with son Samuel Phillips (Mark Phillips). Joanne and Don had 2 children together, Rachel and Jesse.

Don enjoyed watching football and was a lifetime Florida Gators fan. He exercised daily, enjoyed gardening, 80s music, cooking and grilling out. His best friend was his grandson, Masen.

Don was predeceased by his wife (Joanne), sister (Michelle/Mickey), and parents (Don and Barbara). He is survived by his children Samuel (Melissa), Rachel (James), and Jesse (Danielle); sister Joyce Whitfield (Jim); grandson Masen; and several nieces and nephews.
