It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Alberta, a beloved teacher, mentor, and friend. Don, 78 passed away on Wednesday October 30th 2024, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and impact.

Don, known to many as “The Godfather,” was a passionate educator for over 30years. Teaching his long standing subject of math, he always strived to make a positive difference in the lives of his students.

Don’s colleagues remember him as kind, always willing to lend a helping hand and share his knowledge and expertise. His enthusiasm for teaching was infectious, and his colleagues and also his students were inspired by his ability to ignite a love of learning in them.

Beyond the classroom, Don was a dedicated sports official. Officiating baseball, football, basketball and softball for over 45 years. He devoted his knowledge of the game to inspire and mentor other officials to learn the game.

Upon retiring from teaching, Don moved to Florida where he enjoyed spending time with his family either watching movies or playing the family card game Shanghai.

Don is survived by his beloved children, James, William and Amanda; and grandchildren, Rachel, Matthew and Colton; and Wife Laura.

Don is remembered by his great sense of humor and a kind heart, always willing to listen and offer support to those in need. Don’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Don’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love that will be remembered forever.

Join us in celebrating the life of Don at Faith United Methodist Church located at 2560 Post rd, Twinsburg OH 44708 on Sunday December 15th, 2024 at 4pm.

Rest in peace, Don. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
