Don's obituary

Don Whitfield has passed away. We are not sure of the exact date but most likely right around his birthday from what I have been told. He will be missed. All though I was never actually married to his son, Don was like a father to me and always referred to me, Brandi Lyston, as his daughter and my husband, Shaun Lyston, as his son in law. He was "eccentric" and hardworking and he loved his granddaughter more than anything. I always told him he was just bat sh*t crazy, but we still loved him. His other family hasn't published an obituary and they barely let us know of his passing, so I felt like publishing this is the right thing to do. He had been back in Nashville from the Philippines due to health concerns and the last time we spoke he had just been released from the hospital. He is preceded in death by his mother, Donna Thurman-Roark. Although he was estranged from a lot of his family, I find it only right to mention that he leaves behind his father, Brad Whitfield; brother, Kevin Whitfield; son, Joshua Whitfield; granddaughters Ashlynn Whitfield Lyston, Bennett Lyston, Cadence Lyston & Kaylee Whitfield; along with a few nieces and nephews.

“Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs, the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.”

We love you and miss you,

The Lyston's
