Dominique's obituary

Fearless Adventurer, Independent. Defender

Dominique was a wonderful human being, full of life and energy. She believed in a better world with better people. She fought all these years for human rights, particularly women’s rights. Her dream was to shine in the cinema world in order to use her position to help others, but was faced with much evil and jealousy. I know her combat will be remembered as she turned out to be a force and made her family's name proud with her immense victory against the mighty and powerful.

All who came into her world, were made richer by the tremendous insight, vision and wealth of knowledge she was able to give to those who had the privilege of spending time with her. Dominique was deeply admired by many and dearly loved. She loved her sister, Piaget Huett, adored her mom, Deboraha Myers, her niece, Sinea Wreyford and nephew, Jaden Huett, and lived for all her friends and family.

Her cousin and his three brothers described her as considerate, humble, always thoughtful and very mannerly, but could be a goofball too and was funny! When we were down, she'd share a scripture and was always ready to be an encourager. Dominique was always wise beyond her years, even as a child. she was slow to speak, but when she spoke, her words were perfect and lasting. When life's events brought her down, she knew how to encourage herself and refused to let the many adversities define her. She would teach that lesson to others by demonstration, often without speaking a word. She had an innate sense of this world and what was of true importance.

Dominique was the glue that bonded the family, and she considered all her family a special treasure, more valuable when they were together. She was the one who orchestrated family events, organizing each member like they were the star soloist. Like a maestro, she would admire the beautiful piece being played in perfect harmony, sit back, radiating with a proud joy at her accomplishment. Dominique didn't go into anything halfway, she immersed herself fully.

Silence Breakers was one of the creative outlets that she dreamed and implemented, not for herself, because Dominique always found her way, but for others, who became lost and silenced by the wrongs they experienced. Dominique was a builder, and reconstructionist, seeing beyond the devastations, taking damage and brokenness, and recreating it into a new beauty and strength.

Dominique was a strong woman who was not only a voice for other women, but an incredible inspiration. Dominique was never bound by adversity. She challenged it. She always stood up for what she believed in with a burning passion not only for her own ideals but for others as well. Dominique was and is considered an ally, one who would drop everything in a moment to provide strength, guidance, advice, compassion and encouragement. She was a voice for the soft spoken. She was a voice for the vulnerable and downtrodden. A voice for a generation seeking an unforeseeable justice. She was a driving force in a movement that has changed the lives of many of its survivors helping others find pathways to healing, justice and action. This was her life. This is her legacy. She is loved and will be forever missed.
