Dominick's obituary

Dominick Frances DelGrande (April 20, 1935 – April 7, 2026)

Dominick Frances DelGrande, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 20, 1935, Dominick lived a life defined by love, devotion, and a deep commitment to family.

He shared 74 beautiful years with his cherished wife, Cecile, the apple of his eye. Their love story, which began when they were 16, was a testament to lifelong devotion. A proud father to Denise Pallotta, her husband Richard Pallotta, and Lisa DelGrande. Dominick’s heart extended to his grandchildren Nicholas, Michelle, and Alexandria, and his great-grandchildren Ava, Nicholas, Dominic, and Frankie. He lovingly guided, protected, and nurtured his family; teaching them to love deeply, work hard, and cherish the simple joys of life.

Dominick began his career as a route salesman for National Food Sales, starting with the least desirable Route 13, a number that would later become his lucky one. Through hard work, dedication, and determination, he rose to eventually become Vice President of Sales & Operations. His success brought not only pride to his family but also plenty of Wise potato chips into the DelGrande household.

Dominick came from a second-generation Italian-American family and carried forward their values of hard work, loyalty, gratitude and family over everything. He was meticulous about his appearance, loved Cadillacs, boxing, and wrestling. He enjoyed good food, a neat glass of Chivas, and the smallest of life’s pleasures like a candy or chocolate bar. Everyone he met quickly became “his buddy,” often earning a playful nickname. He was chivalrous, generous, and a man whose love and passion radiated to all around him.

He gave the warmest of hugs, and made those he cared for feel loved and valued. Dominick’s stories, often told again and again, carried lessons of simplicity, gratitude, and love that will remain with his family forever.

In accordance with his wishes, a private family ceremony will be held. All are welcome to attend the Funeral Mass that will be celebrated on Saturday at Saint Joseph’s Parish in New Milford.

Dominick’s love, wisdom, and devotion shaped the hearts of his family and all who knew him. His legacy of deep, unconditional love, devotion to family, and joy in life’s simple pleasures will be treasured forever. He is now reunited with his loved ones in heaven, where we know he was greeted by angels and embraced by Jesus Christ.

Dominick’s favorite song, The Greatest Love of All, reflects the life he lived—full of love, generosity, and the desire to leave the world a better place through the love he gave so freely. We will love and honor him all the days of our lives.
