Dominick M. Abate of Anderson, SC entered eternal rest on September 26th, 2023 in the comfort of his own home. He was born on September 28th, 1948, in Bronx, New York to Amadeo and Anna Abate. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Dennis. He is survived by his wife Eva, of 49 years, his children Marisa and Christopher, his in-laws and several cousins. He graduated from Christopher Columbus H.S. in 1967; graduated from Herbert Lehman College in 1974, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He retired as a computer technician and relocated to Anderson, SC for a better quality of life.

Dominick’s love of history led him to trips to Gettysburg, PA, Stony Point Battlefield, NY and other historical sites in New York. It also enabled him to create a vast collection of history books about the Civil War. His hobbies included collecting ships, nautical figurines, lighthouses and playing music of all genres. He enjoyed the summers spending time at Long Island beaches with friends and family.

Dominick was a very caring person who enjoyed helping his neighbors and using his handyman skills. He loved all his dogs, Coco, Freddie, Sachi, Tai and Bella where they are welcoming him in heaven. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. God Bless you, Dominick…We love you.
