How you can help
Hello my name is Desi, and I am starting this fundraiser to help my mom out with an unexpected loss in our family. Her love </3 and my dad. It hurts my heart to write this.
Domingo got sick a few weeks ago when 911 had to be called because he couldn't walk or move his hands. In a matter of days he was sent to ICU just to be safe but then Dr's had to intubate him because of a rare disease we still don't know how he got called GBS. He was doing great and made it by with the prayers of our family and friends and many churches. My mom stayed by his side every min and when she needed a break I took over for her. I held onto faith he was going to be just fine and sure enough as faithful as God is he was. 6 excruciating days of waiting for him to be taken off he fought like we would expect him to fight and to be stubborn as usual. When he finally got off the ventilator, we could breathe. However he was not out of the woods yet. Facility to another with a lot of hell from people with no compassion in a field that requires nothing but, the battle my mom faced alone with him was so hard to bear. Being a single mom of 5 myself I was not able to be there. Family who were states away with their affairs also could not help, it was not easy but she never left his side!
He took an expected turn for the worse out of no where. One min 911 was called and he was back in the hospital and the next he was given 5 mins with my mom with eyes still open. 5 precious moments my mom got to be with him so he was not alone.
He is survived by 2 sons Louie and William, grand babies and many who loved him deeply.
The goal of this is to raise enough to hold a ceremony as this was not planned and was very sudden. They had planned another decade of their lives together traveling.
Domingo was the best father/grandfather/amazing friend to so many who loved his smile and that laugh, those who knew him knew that laugh </3 and his old timer stories.
There was never a dull moment with this man, his spirit lit the room every time you saw him. A rare gentleman.
This loss is very painful and the hurt that comes from this is greater than most of us can bear. I am asking for prayers for my mom who has now suffered her second loss of another husband she loved with all her being. The first being my dad. Domingo was never a stepdad to me he was my dad. I can say he was an angel sent to me to help me grieve the loss of my dad when I was 5. I am very blessed to have known he could tell me stories of my dad as they knew each other growing up.
He use to tell me..."Mija, you could have been my daughter", I gave him a look (how my mom looks when she was mad at him lol) and told him "What are you talking about I am your daughter!"
My moms love story with him started when she was 16. After 30 years, fate brought them back together. They had ups and downs like anyone else but most of all the most honorable marriage I can say is true love. They stuck by each other through thick and think through sickness and in health. Till death do them part.
I cannot speak on behalf of anyone else in the family for their hurt and suffering, but I can say their hurt is great and acknowledged. The proceeds will be used for the services such as burying his remains and finding a plot for him, also to help my mom with any outstanding debts towards his bills from this devastating loss. This is very important to me to help my mom because unfortunately this was a finance we were not expecting nor prepared for.
I want my mom to know they are both loved and they have always had the support of amazing people in their lives. I always pray that the Lord blesses them with people to love them and for them to love on and the Lord is always faithful to the prayers heard from faithful hearts. I know our family is grateful for anything that is sown into this.
I can say he was a true blessing to myself and my babies. I know their little hearts are going to miss him dearly.
My baby girl was prepared when I told her grandpa is very sick but you know what will happen if he gets worse right?
She informed me that yes she knows and is comfortable with it because he is going to be with Jesus and we will be right behind him and we will all get to be together again if anything happens to him. She would be so sad but knows that God always takes the good young.
He was a few days shy of meeting his newborn granddaughter. He got to see her when he was awake through pictures and video chat. That meant the world to him. No words can help my moms mourning but blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.
This is very surreal and will take time to heal from this but none the less he will never be forgotten because he is dear to our hearts. Thank you for taking the time to read this and to help in anyway possible.
I pray the Lord blesses any and all for helping even just the prayers. That is worth more to us than any amount raised. Contribute
