Dolores's obituary

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved mother, Dolores Cruz, born on June 3, 1974, in Davao, Philippines. Our mom left this world peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.

In 1985, she moved to the United States, embarking on a journey that shaped our lives forever. After marrying our dad, Antonio Cruz, they settled in Skokie, Illinois, where they built a loving home and raised their family. Together, they created a nurturing environment filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Mom and Dad worked hard to ensure that we had everything we needed, from quality education to memorable family gatherings. They instilled in us the importance of family values, community, and kindness, making our home a place where everyone felt welcomed and cherished.

Mom was a gifted artist, finding joy in painting and expressing her emotions through vibrant colors. Her art was not just a hobby; it was a reflection of her beautiful spirit that inspired everyone around her.

Dolores is survived by her husband, Antonio; her children, Marnie Meyer, Sofia Cruz, and Michael Cruz; and her granddaughter, Jenny Meyer. She is now reunited in spirit with her parents, Maria and Angelo Guzman, who predeceased her. Her legacy of love, creativity, and resilience will forever live on in our hearts.

A celebration of her life will be held on October 6th, 2024, at Marion Mahony Griffin Beach. We invite friends and family to join us in honoring a remarkable woman who touched so many lives as we scatter her ashes.

Rest in peace, Mom. Your love and spirit will always be with us.
