Amie's obituary
We regretfully announce the passing of Dixie "Amie" Davis, who was better known to her family and friends as Amie. Born in the year 1949, Amie navigated this life with an exceptional blend of humor, resilience, and enigma until her untimely demise on July 19, 2023.
Amie graduated high school from El Capitan, California in 1969, marking the beginning of her independent journey in life. In 1968, she celebrated her marriage, and in 1977, she made a life-altering decision to move to Beatty, NV. Despite the challenges that life brought, including a divorce in 1979, Amie's spirit remained unbroken.
Amie was a woman of intriguing contrasts. She was funny, a source of many laughs among her friends and family. But she also had a hard exterior, a mysterious quality that kept people guessing and made her all the more endearing. One of the most impactful lessons she passed along to those she knew was to never stop questioning - be it a phenomenon, a belief, or a circumstance. Questioning, according to Amie, was the key to growth and evolution.
Throughout her journey, Amie achieved many things, but she held her family, her dress shop, and her contribution as a blacksmith who crafted swords for Elvis fans as her most significant accomplishments. She was a cherished member of an Elvis fan group, reflecting her admiration for the music legend.
In her passing, Amie leaves behind a legacy of hard work and joy of life, best summed up in her philosophy to "Be kins work hard play harder". She deeply believed in the power and importance of companionship, a belief which she tried to instill in those around her.
Amie is survived by her loving daughter, Coby Davis, and her granddaughters Eaire Davis and Haeli W. The strength of her personality and the fond memories she created will continue to live on through them.
