Dirceu's obituary
Our beloved Dirceu Santos passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 10th, 2024 in West Palm Beach, FL.
Born in 1936 in Brazil, Dirceu wore many titles in his life: husband, grandfather, dad, brother, son, friend, and more.
Dirceu moved to Chicago in 1971, where he later met his beloved wife, Lidia. Together they built a life that brought Dirceu many joys. He loved to make others laugh, to dance, watch soccer, and was always ready and willing to have a healthy discussion about politics. When he wasn't spending time with his animals, he could be found tinkering with a car or watching his favorite westerns. He enjoyed his friends, and spending time with his family.
Dirceu is survived by his loving wife Lidia DaSilva, sister Dirce Arocho and husband Victor, sister Maria dos Santos and husband Fred Leonard, sister Ceia dos Santos, daughter Dione dos Santos and family, daughter Adriana Coakley and family, daughter Daphne Palakie and family, daughter Angela Abreu, son Francisco Carlos dos Santos, son Vilmar dos Santos, son Joel DaSilva and wife Kristina, son Lionel DaSilva, and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren: Isabela, Henry, Connie, Patricia, Carlos, Flavia, Tiago, Janaina, Otavio, Vanessa, Wamilton, Fernanda, Luizia, Edivelton, Ederson, and Ethan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made through this page to support Dirceu's family with expenses.
His friends and family are invited here to share happy memories and photos, and celebrate his life in the way he would want to be remembered - as a man who enjoyed being with those he cared about.
