Ding's obituary
We sadly announce the passing of Ding "DingDing" Lin; a mother, mentor, and passionate artist. Known affectionately to many as Teacher Chen, she was a beacon of strength, kindness, and determination. Born on October 30, 1956, Ding departed on June 16, 2024.
Ding was a sharp-witted woman who embraced life with a sweet and loving disposition. Her greatest message to all who knew her was a simple yet profound one: life is precious. In embodying this sentiment, she touched the lives of numerous individuals, instilling in them the profound beauty of existence.
One of her most notable accomplishments was her dedication to educating early childhood teachers in teaching art. She believed that creativity was an essential part of cognitive development and worked diligently to incorporate art into the conventional learning system.
Ding's story is one of resilience and bravery; she was the first in our family to come to the United States in the '80s. This journey marked the beginning of a new chapter for our family, and her relentless determination continues to inspire us as we saw her live through over 33 years of Parkinson's.
Ms. Chen is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Lin, who is a testament to Ding's unwavering love and her enduring teachings. Together, we mourn her loss and celebrate the remarkable life she led.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 7:00 PM at the Unity Lutheran Church. We invite all who knew Ding to join us in celebrating her unforgettable life. Please refrain from sending flowers. Instead, we ask that you consider contributing to the fund "Help with Expenses from Ding's Passing" to honor her memory. Ding's life was a testament to strength, resilience, and beauty. She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her.
