Dinah's obituary

Dinah Nelson of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on March 28, 2022 after a lengthy battle with multiple autoimmune disorders. Dinah was born in 1947 to Ruth and Bill Orr of Lafayette, Indiana. At a young age, she moved to Florida with her parents Ruth and Dick Schmidt. After graduating from Fort Myers High School, she married the love of her life, Don Nelson. Dinah and Don were married for 56 years and had two daughters, Kimi and Dana.  Dinah dedicated her time to volunteering to many different causes including  the local school system, Girl Scouts, and softball leagues. Dinah was a registered Court Reporter in the state of Indiana prior to moving to North Carolina where she continued her passion for volunteering as a Guardian ad Litem and Elementary School mentor.  Dinah loved her family deeply and never missed a moment to brag about her daughters and grandsons. She was often found at the sidelines of sporting and other events cheering them on and showing her support. Dinah is survived by her husband Don, daughters Kimi and Dana, son-in-law Craig Miller, grandsons Harrison (Mila), Justin (Chloe) Miller and her beloved Rowdie who never left her side.
