Since my fathers last wife, Tammy Marlikowski, deemed herself as having the right to exclude my brother, Matthew and I, 2 of 3 children born during his first marriage to my mother, from being mentioned in the obituary, she posted, I am posting this obituary to include our names as well as truthful description of whom he was.
Dieter Marlikowski was born Dieter Meinhardt in Bamberg, Germany on June 21, 1946 and passed away on April 21, 2018 at the age of 71. He came to Canada in 1952 with his mom & sister on the boat to Halifax and then moved to the Oshawa/Whitby area and from there moved to British Columbia and Alberta.
Dieter was a very abusive and highly selfish man, towards all of his children, from three marriages. He often beat and terrorized all of his children. For the crime of peeing the bed at the age of 2, I was put outside to sleep on the balcony of a high rise, "where all animals are kept", with a blanket overnight, with the door locked, merely one of the numerous memories of trauma inflicted by him.
He was found to be unfit to parent to two of the children from his first marriage (mom was pregnant with the third) and we were placed in foster care. His mother chose to take custody of my older brother and leave me behind, intentionally separating us from our brother for life. He then began to claim that my younger brother and I were not his children, though born in the bonds of marriage and our birth certificates could not be gained without the stats of our father.
Although he has admitted to the fact that he is our father, to his subsequent children and to his current wife, she still chose to omit us from the obit she posted for him.
He will now have to answer for the damages he has caused to his children and so many others, during his time in life and his current wife will eventually answer for hers also. For those of us, whom suffered under him, we will now live in peace.
Dieter is survived by his mother, Margot, sister Ericka (Ralph), sister Brigitte (Joe) and their families; his wife Tammy, sons Dan, Matthew, Rob, Andrew & Michael & their families, daughters, Carolin & Karen & their families, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Dieter was predeceased by his adopted father in 1995; his grandparents and aunts from Germany.
