I was saddened to learn of my sister’s passing even though it was unexpected. I remember clearly being excited when mom and dad told my brothers and I that we had a sister. We lived at 512 east 28th street in 1947. I remember mom teaching me how to change Dianne’s diaper. She was such a happy baby. She would sit in her high chair and sing along with the Woody Woodpecker song and giggle.
When we moved to 3519 Washington Boulevard, she got her own bedroom. She was so delighted when we got our little white German Shepherd puppy, Kamuela.
She became close friends with Barbara Sloan, a neighbor. It was delightful watching them grow up together.
These memories, and many others, will always be with me. I will miss my sister forever.
