Girlfriend's obituary
Dianne "Girlfriend" Hartin, a spirited spirit and lover of life, passed away on March 21, 2024. She was born on October 8, 1948 and lived a truly remarkable life marked by appreciation for the simple pleasures, a genuine love for others, and a passion for being authentically herself.
Known affectionately as "Girlfriend", she had a penchant for Pasta and Macaroni Salad, and found comfort in sipping Diet Coke and flavored brandy while humming tunes from Lynyrd Skynyrd or Metallica. She was a fan of the Chicago Series on television and found peace while watching movies like "Where The Crawdads Sing".
A fervent supporter of Buffalo Bills and NASCAR, Girlfriend was never one to shy away from displaying her fandom. In her quieter moments, she loved a good game of Scrabble and was often entranced by the performances of the Blue Man Group. Her hands found joy in the delicate art of 'paint by number' and quilting, while she embraced the simplicity of walking as a form of exercise.
She harbored a special affection for Old Orchard Beach Maine, frequently reminiscing about the tranquility she felt there. More often than not, she could be found savoring the serenity of her backyard, her favorite local spot in Rotterdam. It was there that she embraced the vibrancy of her favorite color, red, as a metaphor for living a life that was bold, direct, and worry-free.
Girlfriend was known for being nice, direct, and had a credo of "no worries". She believed in extending kindness to everyone and considered her family as one of her greatest accomplishments. Her legacy of unconditional love will forever be imprinted on the hearts of those who knew her.
She will be missed dearly by Boyfriend, her loving husband, her son Jeremy, daughter-in-law Lisa, and beloved grandson, Daniel, as well as Toby Dog, her faithful Maine Coon cat, and by all who were fortunate to have crossed paths with her. Her spirit, her lessons, and her love will continue to inspire us as we remember the beautiful soul known as Dianne "Girlfriend" Hartin.
