In lieu of flowers

Please consider giving to a fundraiser for Beverlys Birthdays.

Background

Beverly's Birthdays is a non profit dedicated to making kids feel special. They provide birthday cheer and essential newborn items to children that are experiencing homelessness and families in need. Children that may have never celebrated a birthday before have a chance to have their special day, regardless of the family's circumstances. Every child receives a book with their birthday gift.

I chose this charity because my mom worked hard to help us build connections in this community. Traveling to North Huntingdon every week was very much out of her comfort zone, to say the least, but she made it her mission to make friends at the library, meet the neighbors, ask the locals for recommendations and help my family to build up a community of our own.

Beverly's Birthdays is here in North Huntingdon, in my community that she helped me to feel a part of. Making kids feel special and encouraging them to read was pretty much her life's work so it makes a lot of sense to choose this organization to contribute to in her honor.

Donations go toward birthday gifts and books, supplies for families to have birthday parties, newborn essential items, hygiene items and clothing. I encourage people to check out the website to see for themselves how Beverly's Birthdays is touching lives and making a difference.
