Hello everyone,
With Diane‘s celebration of life coming up tomorrow (Monday Sept 16), we are asking those attending to take a moment to consider sharing a special memory or experience you had with Diane at the event.
Below we have included a few ideas, as our family would love to hear a few words from her friends, both past and present.
We recognize that everyone’s comfort level differs when it comes to public speaking, especially when there are emotions that may come up, and that doing it on the fly may not work for others.
If you’re feeling unsure of what to say, here are a few suggestions that may help to get things flowing. Feel free to pick one (or more), or come up with your own memory to share.
- ‘I met Diane when I was ________’
- ‘Diane and I knew each other from _________’
- ‘What I remember most about Diane is _________’
- ‘Something Diane and I shared in common is _________’
- ‘One thing some people may not know about Diane is ________’
- ‘I remember this time when Diane ________’
- ‘Something I will miss about Diane is her_______’

My condolences to Diane's family. I first met Diane when I started working at The Bay Lougheed back in 1995. We worked together for about 20 years and I honestly can't remember a time when she wasn't smiling. We got along instantly and I will always remember 'Honey".. My daughter and her granddaughter went to Central Elementary together so I would often get to see her at award ceremonies or Christmas concerts and we would pick up right where we left off. Seeing her smile so bright made me smile. Diane will be so missed but never forgotten!
