Diane's obituary
Diane Elaine Grygier, age 67 of Little Elm, TX, passed at 1:32 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas. She was born on July 1, 1957, in Dearborn, Michigan to the late George and Joyce Flory. On October 29, 1982, she married Robert Keith Grygier.
Diane held several positions during her career including Quality Assurance Administrator at Hologic, Inc. for 3Dimensions™ Mammography System; Document Control Manager at Stratagene for genetic diagnostic products; and Senior Database Administrator at Fujitsu-ICL Systems, Inc. for supermarket scanning systems and ATM machines.
Diane had many friends and easily made more throughout her lifetime. She was a great pen pal to over 100 people when she was young, making many friends for life across the world. She also had deep friendships with many people that she first met in kindergarten and grade school which lasted for her whole lifetime. While in the hospital and in rehab during her illness she was very loved by the nurses, doctors, and caregivers who helped and treated her. They said that she was their favorite patient and that she made them laugh and feel good even during her most difficult times.
During most of the time Diane was in the hospital she was in intensive care. She was often hooked up to many machines to give her required medications, and to a breathing ventilator and a dialysis machine. Even though she often could not speak directly due to having the ventilator in her throat, she kept a positive attitude and would give a thumbs up or shake her head that she was not in pain and that she was doing OK. She bore up to the pain and confinement in a positive way that most of us could never do.
Diane also loved animals particularly her little Yorkshire-mix Terrier Lulu and her guinea pigs Chestnut, Fidgit, and Gizmo. She also loved to do crafts and particularly make jewelry.
She also loved 1970’s rock music and met many well-known performers when she was young including the Bay City Rollers and the Osmonds which she knew personally when she was in the same ward in Utah. As manager of the Holiday Inn in Toledo, Ohio, she met many acts who stayed there including Billy Joel and AC DC.
She was a huge Detroit Tigers fan.
She will be remembered for speaking her mind, being outgoing, very friendly and always loving to visit with people.
She is survived by her husband Robert Keith Grygier and 3 children – her sons Eric Grygier and Evan Grygier of Little Elm, TX, and daughter Erin Biondi (Grygier) of Chaddsford, PA. Also, her brother George Flory of OH.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
