Westminster – Diane Lawing Cannon, 62, wife of the late John Thomas Cannon, Sr., passed away Saturday, January 16th, 2021 at Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Diane was born in Ellijay, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Myrtle Bates Lawing and a member of Coneross Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons, Jonathan Lee Cannon, John Thomas Cannon, Jr.; daughters, Jennifer Cannon, Julie Diane Cannon, Samantha Jo Cannon, Tina Phillips; brother, Ronnie Lawing; sisters, Evelyn Pearson, Cheryl Pearson, Marie Rholetter, and Patricia Cole; two grandchildren, Tiffany Smith, Jessica Grace; one great-grandchild due in July.

In addition to her parents, and husband, John Thomas Cannon, Sr., she is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Lawing; and a sister, Kathy Bryson.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 19th, 2021 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 pm, prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home.
