Background
Diane's niece formed this charity to help her daughter and other children who are affected by a rare genetic disease called Usher Syndrome Type 1B. This disorder causes children to lose their hearing and balance from birth along with deteriorated vision as they age. They have partnered with the Foundation Fighting Blindness to help find a treatment for the cause of blindness related to Usher Syndrome. Diane's final wishes included making a donation in her honor to this cause and any additional donations in her memory would be so kind.
