Diane's obituary
Diane Beltran Del Rio, 64, passed away February 10, 2026, in Pflugerville, Texas. Born in El Paso to Cruz and Patricia Portillo on December 18 1961, she was the third of six children. Knowing adventure is out there, she bid farewell to Riverside High School and let her compass lead her across the vast state of Texas where she gathered a diverse portfolio of expertise. From the delicate precision of surgical tech to the artistic enchantments of jewelry making and journalism, she continued to seek out new challenges. She is survived by her children, Danny Carrera, Christina Denise Carrera, and Theresa Beltran Del Rio; her grandchildren, Kadin, Celest, Xander, Jesse, Zeke, and Elijah; and her great-grandchildren, Daniel and Jaxon. She has now reunited with her parents, her brother David, and her grandson Joe in Heaven.
Diane was the epitome of perseverance. She managed to thrive as a single mother in a new city, and despite possessing only the bare necessities, she always helped friends during their time of need. Whether it was housing or emotional support, she ensured each member of her Ohana was flourishing. This unyielding tenacity was fueled by her love of Disney and her inventive spirit. Her lifelong love for Disney started with early trips to the movies, where she learned that "laughter is timeless"; she carried that spirit forward by hand-crafting cakes and piñatas that brought joy to both her children and neighbors. She encompassed dedication and inclusion by caring for patients at Seton Hospital for over 20 years; during her tenure, she became a trusted fixture of the healthcare community, known for treating every patient with a level of care that made them feel like family.
After creating her own Casita, she settled in Pflugerville in July 2024. During her downtime, she cherished quality time with her family, supporting her grandchildren’s expansive urge to try new things. Together, they would participate as vendors at their church’s handmade market or recreate the latest trends in baking, cleaning, DIY crafts, and decor. With a constantly full social calendar, she hosted every gathering with the whimsical energy of a Mad Tea Party, reminding us all that life is meant to be celebrated, not just lived. While she will be deeply missed, the love she shared knows no limits; it will stay with her friends and family, reaching to infinity and beyond in the hearts of those who knew her.
