Diane's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane Kay Art, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Diane was born on April 15, 1939 in Cortland, New York, and ascended into the heavens on December 9, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Julia Tarby Carter. She is survived by her brother, Richard Carter, and her children, Robert Art and wife Robyn, Edward Art and wife Lana, and Nicole Comeaux and husband Joel. Seven grandchildren, Victoria, Elijah, Amelia, Jacob, Madeline, Ava, and Ashton. Three great-grandchildren Carson, Charlie, and Eliza.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Yvonne Trivisonno.
Diane loved to cook and feed her family and friends. Her dinner rolls are legendary. Her favorite past time was shopping for hours at Goodwill.
Diane was known for her caring, feisty, energetic, and loving personality. She poured everything she had into her family, and she considered this dedication one of her greatest accomplishments. She cherished every opportunity to nurture and care for her loved ones, viewing these moments as the true measure of a life well-lived.
Diane's legacy is a testament to her strong work ethic and unwavering resilience. She believed fervently that material possessions and status symbols held little importance, instead, it was the people around her, particularly her family, that truly mattered. This profound principle is the golden thread that ran through her life, one that she hoped to pass on to subsequent generations.
The family would like to extend special recognition to the staff at Bel Air at Teravista, who took care of her during her short time there.
A Celebration of Life ceremony for Diane is scheduled for December 20, 2025, at 11:30 AM. Those touched by Diane's vibrant life are welcome to pay respects and share memories of her.
Diane's passing leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of her family. She is remembered by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will miss her tremendously. Diane, a beacon of love and resilience, will forever shine in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
