Diana's obituary
Diana Wahl-Gallacher
March 4th 1958 ~ July 26th 2024
Diana Wahl, beloved adventurer, and cherished family member, passed away on July 26th, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, creativity, and dedication.
Born in Indiana, Diana's childhood was filled with fond memories of playing at her grandparents' farmhouse near the Indiana Dunes and Lake Michigan. After moving to Phoenix with her family, she developed a passion for arts and crafts, showcasing her creativity through various projects.
Seeking respite from the desert heat, Diana ventured to the Pacific Northwest, where she found her true calling. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree and went on to own and operate a successful practice in Bothell, Washington, for many years.
Diana's zest for life was evident in her numerous hobbies and interests. She was an avid crafter, antique collector, talented cook, and gracious host. Her love for travel took her around the world, broadening her horizons and enriching her life experiences.
A woman who lived life to the fullest, Diana was known for her ability to make everyone around her feel special. She had a knack for finding the perfect gift, the best dessert, and the loveliest hats. Her generous spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she became an integral part of her "adopted" Scottish clan, The Gallachers.
Diana is preceded in death by her father Jim, parents-in-law Frank and Margaret, and brother Jay. She leaves behind her loving husband Tom, and their children Genny and Alex. She is also survived by her mother Fran, sister Kim (husband Mike), and their children Amanda and Jared, whom she adored.
Diana's vibrant presence and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, creativity, and thoughtfulness will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. It seems fitting that she spent her final moments at her cherished beach house, a place that held many happy memories for her and everyone who knew her.
The family invites those who knew Diana to please leave a nice story, message of condolence, and/or photo to celebrate her life and the impact she had on others.
