Diana's obituary

Diana Lynn Scaffidi (Costa) was born on November 28, 1970, to her loving parents Rosetta and Robert Costa Sr. She attended St. Bridget’s Catholic School in Glassboro, NJ, for grammar school, followed by four years at Gloucester Catholic High School, Class of ’89. One of her many great accomplishments, along with a highly awarded dance career, was being crowned Miss Glassboro. She worked in the Glassboro Municipal Court for several years, and later the Mantua Municipal Court. Just prior to her move to Tampa in 2015, she worked for the Mantua Township MUA. After getting her family settled in Florida, she then found an opportunity at a local water company to continue her professional career. On March 16th, 2021 she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and immediately began receiving care at Tampa General Hospital, where she instantly found her way into the hearts of all who cared for her at TGH. The treatments she required left her body susceptible to infection. She acquired an unknown lung infection and due to the overall stress her body was under, she passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 17th, 2021 at the age of 50. Diana was known for many things: being an excellent host and cook, outlasting everyone in the casino, cheering for her Baltimore Ravens, relaxing on the beach, jamming to country music, listening to all our troubles and providing much needed advice, always maintaining her faith in God no matter the hardships we endured, sharing fun times with all her friends and family, and being the rock of our family.

She was predeceased by her parents Rosetta and Robert Costa Sr., her brother Robert Costa Jr., and her nephews Rick and Robert Costa III. She is survived by her best-friend and loving husband Sal Scaffidi, and her boys that she adored and loved Salvatore and Daniel. She is also survived by her sister Catherine Costa Puglia and her nieces Desiree Puglia, Ivy Rae Puglia, Nichole DeJesus and her husband Angel DeJesus, Gabriella Scaffidi, and nephew Santino Scaffidi. She is survived by her brother in-law Pete and his wife Joanna Scaffidi, sister-in-law Gina Scaffidi, and parents-in-law Peter and Josephine Scaffidi. Along with many many close cousins, she is survived by countless great friends. She made an unforgettable and lasting impact on all our lives. Our family would not be where it is today if we did not have Diana as a wife, mother, sister, aunt, godmother, cousin, friend, confidant, and a guiding light in all our lives.

In lieu of flowers, and per her wishes, a donation website has been created to support research at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society: https://everloved.com/life-of…
