Diana's obituary

Diana Puckett, born on May 11, 1950, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025. A beloved mother, aunt, and sister, her warmth and generosity will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Despite facing many tough battles, Diana's spirit remained unwavering; she fought and loved hard till the end, exemplifying her kind-hearted, selfless, and giving nature.

Diana is survived by her daughter, Christy Colvard, her granddaughter, Myra Brooke, and son-in-law, Jonathan Shane. Her numerous nieces, nephews, and siblings - Joyce May, Tracy Tompson, Martha Ollis, Steven Ollis, Rose Hayhurst, Michael Ollis, Sheila Dalton, Michell Ollis, Cytina Reinecke, Jessica Brown, Sam Ollis, Sarah Ollis, Jason Ollis, and Katherine Barnby remember her fondly. Diana was predeceased by her sister Cheryl Ollis, brothers David and Frank Ollis, and her parents, Katherine and Elbert Ollis.

A devoted attendee at the First Baptist Church in Newland, North Carolina, Diana spread her faith and kindness wherever she went. She often shared the best lessons she learned from her life - to love each other, to be kind, and to love Jesus. Many admired her faith, as she succeeded in guiding numerous people towards the Lord while travelling up and down the East Coast.

In her free moments, Diana loved to walk and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as a good steak, baked potato, and salad, or exciting finds from the local thrift stores. A fan of The Beatles, old R&B and rock ‘n roll music, Diana also had an affinity for watching boxing. Her favourite color was green and she was known to enjoy many books and even keeping up with The Kardashians on television.

Diana left behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and love, encapsulated in her words and actions. As a hardworking woman who believed in peace, she was adored by many. Her loved ones will always remember her warm spirit and beauty, particularly her daughter, Christy Lee Colvard. Diana will be genuinely missed by many. Even in her absence, the impact of her words and the memories of her deeds will continue to live on.
