In lieu of flowers

Please consider a contribution to Olive Crest.

Background

Diana had a heart for serving children who were vulnerable and in need of care. Many years ago, she volunteered in an Olive Crest girls’ home for girls who were in the foster care system, an experience that stayed with her and shaped her compassion and commitment to helping children feel safe, supported, and loved. In her honor, donations to Olive Crest reflect Diana’s lifelong values of service, kindness, and advocacy for children in the foster care system.

Studies show that nearly 1 in 4 former foster youth experiences homelessness, up to 30% are incarcerated by young adulthood, and rates of substance use and mental health challenges are significantly higher than among their peers. Many struggle to access stable housing, employment, education, and consistent mental health care during this critical transition period.

Programs that provide safe housing, mental health services, case management, and wraparound support, including transitional living apartments for youth aging out at 18, play a vital role in interrupting these outcomes and helping young people build stability, independence, and hope for the future.

Supporting Olive Crest is a meaningful way to carry forward Diana’s legacy of love and care for others. https://www.olivecrest.org/donate/
