Personal note from Stacy Johnson-Klein - your sister in Christ

This note is just what its supposed to be, its about Mamma D and Me. It has taken me over a week to find the strength to write anything about you and barely speak about you. That's kind of strange huh? Given you were the one woman, who actually made me talk more than anyone in the world! Our kids just LUVED us for that huh? You know what though, our kids love us and my oh my how we love them. I wish you could see them now trying to be so big for you right now.

Okay sis, There will never be another Thanksgiving or Christmas Holiday where we meet at Hop and Sac so you can sneak me all the good ole southern foods that we both cherish, yet somehow my boys don't eat!? Sweet Potato Pie, Collard Greens, Cabbage, Cornbread stuffing like my mothers, and of course the boys brownies to go with the huge spread I always prepare myself. We blessed each other.

We sat on my back porch many times and spoke of this happening to one of us. We both promised to look after the others kids and follow each others wishes. You know my heart and I'll see you on the other side sis. Right now I'm still mad at you for leaving! I believe God needed his angel to cook for all the athletes above.

I always think back to the early years when we met and got to know one another. Your son Davon was a football player at Mac and my daughter was a trainer at Mac and that awesome team won a State Championship. You were always at the gate selling programs and keeping the change for the kids. Our group of parents were always feeding the kids. We had some great times!

Now our little boys are young men and its their turn. They are doing great and they are like brothers. Chuck and I have taken Jeremy all over the place with our kids on travel teams, along with Bo Vaughn and family. You traveled with us many times and you made those hour upon hour long drives seem so much fun, Sometimes I slipped my earphones in and said "uh huh" every few minutes, because you would not stop talking!!!! I know you know I did that and now I'm laughing about it.
Then I broke a golden rule... I hired a friend to come inside my home and help me with small task in the beginning and then you ended up with your own key and remote. I say this to say, you came as you pleased. You were family. In 3 years we had 1 true sisterly argument and several little ones, which only made us closer. We would sit and cry and talk it out and you would tell me no one on earth talked to you like that, like you were a queen. You also always told me I was nothing like people thought and loved me for just being me!

I'll end with this, you and I both always laughed amongst ourselves when Chuck figured out you were here more for company than anything else to me. Now, woman you were the spunkiest lady of all time and you worked so hard so don't get it twisted. But we sure enjoyed our breaks and our 2-3 hour talks on the back porch :))
You were so afraid of dogs until you met our Pit Bull Bolt. Bolt loved you and you loved Bolt. You amazed me how you would leave to run to the dollar store just to buy Bolt his favorite treats!! I promise you he is still going to each door looking for you.

So sister... You know I'll make good on my promise to look after Mutt (Jeremy). God is watching over your kids and mine too. You shook me so hard and taught me so hard and fast tomorrow is not promised. (Real Talk, I can't stop crying Mamma D. Your mother died at the same age as you and I know you spent your life raising your siblings. Davon is now in your shoes. He will handle it. Many people love them and God will provide. So you go rest high on that mountain top, because your work on earth is done. I'll see you on the other side. I love you forever sister in Christ and Mamma D to the K Fam. Once your in your final resting place, I'm going to the dollar store to buy Bolt those silly peanut butter treats.
