Dian Ray Reckentin Mahaney was born in St. Louis, MO on January 2, 1949, and passed peacefully on July 18th, in Tampa, FL, surrounded by her family.  Dian spent most of her life in the St. Louis area, and after retiring from Mayflower Transit (a division of UniGroup) in 2009, she moved to Tampa, FL,  to live with her daughter Connie Ann Mahaney in 2016.

She was passionate about genealogy and spent long hours researching both sides of her family. Dian also enjoyed creating arts and crafts.

Surviving are her children Thomas Mahaney of St. Louis, MO, Connie Ann Mahaney of Tampa, FL, and Alice Mahaney of St. Louis; sisters Cheryl Oetting of Jonesburg, MO, Constance Leininger of Arnold, MO, and brother Patrick Reckentin of Washington, MO, and Grandchildren Christopher, Danielle, Kayla, Karter, Drake, Lucy and Freya Mahaney.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Theresa Mahaney, her parents, William (Bill) and Mary Jo (nee Ray) Reckentin, her brother William Reckentin, and granddaughter Lauren Mahaney.
