Dezzierae's obituary
Dezzierae Cox-Tiffany, age 46, of Aliso Viejo, passed away on March 7, 2023. Over the past three-and-a-half years, she battled Cervical Cancer with everything she had. She fought the disease exactly how she lived her life, with a fierce stubbornness and refusal to ever give up. In the end, she didn't let go until she was ready; waiting to make sure her family and friends were all able to make it to say their goodbyes. She passed on her own terms, peacefully in her home with her loving husband by her side.
Dezzierae was born and raised in Utah and always considered it her home. She and her siblings were raised in a time when you played outside with neighborhood friends until the sun went down. She was smart, beautiful, headstrong and definitely the kind of daughter who kept her parents on their toes. Dez had a great and often irreverent sense of humor that made spending time with her a blast because you never knew what she was going to say next. In the words of a lifelong friend, "She was honest, even when you didn't want her to be." Dez had a beautiful smile and an even better laugh. Hanging out with her was never boring.
She had a passion for nursing and loved her job in Labor and Delivery at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. Her work friends became family to her and were a great support to her during her illness. She often mentioned how much she missed being at work with her friends. Her family finds comfort in how much she enjoyed her job and the love she received from her amazing co-workers.
The most important part of Dezzierae's life was her family. She was a loving mother to four girls who meant the world to her. She spent years as a single mother and often went without to ensure her girls had everything they needed. She met the love of her life, Tom, a little later in life and often mentioned that she wished she could have found him sooner. Tom raised her older girls as his own and they went on to have two more beautiful girls. Together, she and Tom built a happy life with their girls, dogs and friends who were more like family. In her last days, Dezzierae called many of the women in her life to make sure they all knew their respective roles in taking care of her girls once she was gone. Even in death, taking care of her girls was her first priority.
Dezzierae is survived by her best friend and loving husband, Tom. Throughout her valiant fight with cancer, he never left her side; he was her caregiver, advocate and biggest supporter. Her daughters Kamryn (son-in law Dylan), Madilynn, Payton and Teagyn.; parents Rodney and Leslee Cox.; brother Nathan Cox (Jenny), sister Sarah Cox-Hall (Charley) and Janell Cox; six nieces and five nephews.
