Surviving siblings include his brothers Johnny Newsome and Butch Kent, and his loving sister, Elsie Wiley. Dewey's charismatic personality and jovial nature will continue to resonate within them, reminding them of the strong bond they shared.

Dewey was predeceased by his mother, Sally Newsome, his father, Dewey Newsome, and his dear brother Edward Kent. The love he held for his late brother Bill Newsome is a testament to his devotion to his family.
