Devin's obituary

Devin Winkler passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2022 at the age of 30.

Born to William M. Winkler and Christiana J. Boysen  on March 2nd 1992,  Devin came into this world early at only 4 poumds 14 ounces and he was a fighter. As a child Devin's independence and free spirit led the way to his love for extreme sports.  He did it all from BMX racing to hours everyday at the skate park. He loved being the first to master the most difficult and most times dangerous tricks.  Growing up Devin played all the sports he could including wrestling where he was coached by his Dad who was one of his high schools top wrestler's . He was a gifted young athlete who had the  potential to accomplish anything.

Devin was proud to be Elijah and Kiya's big brother.  Growing up he quickly became Elijah's best friend. They were inseparable as children.  Although life eventually took these brothers in different directions, the bond they shared never faltered.  Raised primarily by his Dad,  Devin was surrounded by  a large family.  He spent a lot of time with Grandparents Pat and Gretchan Mccann in the summers as well as Grandparents Richard and Mary Boysen.

Our family was not expecting the loss of Devin or for his life to be cut so short so soon. We are devastated by this loss and will feel the absence of Devin forever.  He will be forever missed. Devin will always be remembered by family and everyone who ever knew him. He loved so many, and was loved by so many more. He had an energy that with even just one encounter with him, you would remember him for life. If you knew him well or barely at all, he always left you thinking. Whether it was about how absolutely handsome he was, ridiculously funny, or just down right inappropriate he could be, he left his mark.

We all must take comfort in knowing that Devin is finally free from everything that held him down so tightly. His smile was stolen from us from us for far to long and now as we remember every beautiful detail of who Devin was to us , that smile of his comes to mind and we know he has got it back! We know his Grandpa Pat and friends Devin lost over the years are with him now and we will meet again.
