Destanne Ann Marie Campbell, who was born on January 13, 2002 in Marshalltown, IA, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at UnityPoint Health Hospital, Des Moines, IA, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Destanne, the beautiful daughter of Leslie Cory, lived a life filled with love, laughter, adventures and many life struggles. She graduated from Marshalltown High School Class of 2020; that was one of the greatest achievements in her life.

Destanne had a passion for the simple things in life; enjoying hobbies such as fishing, hanging out with friends and spending time with her family. Her kind heart and infectious laughter and smile brightened the lives of everyone she touched.

Though she never had children of her own, Destanne was always willing to lend a helping hand to her family and friends by watching their children.

As we mourn the loss of Destanne, let us also celebrate the beautiful life that she lived and the memories that she leaves behind; she will forever hold a special place in all our hearts.

Those left to mourn her death is her mother, Leslie Cory (Theil Brown); brothers, Taven and Chancey Campbell and a bonus brother, Xander Campbell (who also is her cousin); bonus sisters, Mariah Tasler (Theil Brown's daughter) and Tiera Griego (who is also a cousin); grandparents: Shari “Nana” and Michael Goodman, Art Campbell, and Tom Heil (he was the bacon to her eggs - a little side joke between them) and Deb Cory; aunt, Alicia Kinzenbaw, nieces, Liliana Nunez and Leilani (Xander Campbell’s daughter); nephews, Julian Nunez and Ryder Campbell; cousins, Daysen Griego and Christopher Brannick; and her special love, Angel Castillo; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Preceeding her in death is Poppa Christopher Cory, Great-Grandma Marylyn "Mickey" Rolph, Uncle Steven Griego, Uncle Andrew Worsfold, Cousin Zach Kellogg, Cousin Gunner Brannick, Great-Grandma Marilyn Moorman, and Cousin Paul Cory.

A visitation for Destanne will take place on Sunday, March 2 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will also be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 3 at 1:30 P.M. Her family requests that the attire to be causal, and encourages anyone who would like to wear Ninja Turtles or Sonic the Hedgehog attire in memory of Destanne.
