Desi was the kindest man who loved our daughter with his whole heart! Desi was so thoughtful he always put others before himself. He saw me struggling to put on my boots. A few days later I got a shoe horn delivered from Amazon. This was just the kind hearted thoughtful thing Desi would do.
His laugh was one of a kind. Desi’s sense of humor was one of the best things about him. He always had us laughing.
He will be missed but never forgotten! We love you Desi you will always be in our heart.

Desi is my Brother-in-Law yes but he is also my brother. We had so many laughs together. Each time leaving my face would be sore for a week from all the laughter. He had this way about him that just drew you to him. Like no matter what he had my back. At the most random times he’d reach out with a note or some inside joke we’d have and my day was all of a sudden brighter. I only knew him a short time but feel like we grew up together. I’d joke that “Me and Him went to different schools together.” That’s how he’d make you feel. So many times he’d say something and it was like he read my mind. I could go on and on about him. I’m really torn up tonight knowing I won’t see him for a while. But I know he’s watching out for me from where he is. One of the things he told me when I first found out he was going through this was to “Never forget how awesome you are.” That was quite some time ago but I still pull that text up every now and then and it brings me comfort and strength no matter what I’m going through at the moment. Lately I’ve had to look up his words more and more and it’s gotten me through some difficult moments. Even when he was going through this he wanted me to know that he was with me and had my back. I’ll never forget that about him.
I love you my brother. One day on the other side I know we’ll pick up where we left off and I’ll get to hear your laugh again. Until then please know we will be there for Ashley. I’ll always remember how you were there for me.

If memory serves, I first met Desi on my first day of junior high. We were all so small and frightened, but Desi stood out like a beacon; safe and loving, large and proud. Who could resist that inner light? I couldn’t! It’s funny, I was so awkward and shy, scared of my own shadow, a nerd, but he befriended me. That’s evidence of his monumental spirit of kindness. We laughed together, ate together, sweat together… for 7 long years! Some of the best years of my life. Sadly, I’m regretting the fact that I didn’t spend more time with Des. Hindsight, am I right? I ran into him a few times after we graduated from high school and it was always like being reunited with a lost brother, every time. Facebook was a miracle that couldn’t have come at a better time! Desi was always there to say something nice and it, sincerely, meant the world. I wish so much that I had invited him to lunch, anything, but… yeah… hindsight. Heaven is a much, much better place now that my very good friend has passed. I’m not eager to get there, not quite yet, but when it’s my time, seeing Desi again will make it so worth the journey. I love you, brother.

My heart is heavy in hearing of Desi’s passing. I was lucky enough to have met Desi when he worked in the travel industry. He was truly a “gentle man”. Polite, respectful, kind, smart, great sense of humor and had the best laugh! He would help anyone, and had one of the biggest hearts. Really one of a kind.
Condolences to his family.
Rest in peace Desi. 🙏
