Derrick's obituary

Derrick Giffin, 51 of Essex, Vermont passed away unexpectedly on Jan, 9 at 10:41 PM,

In his home where he wanted to await his passing. Derrick was receiving Help from Mitchelle and Charlie Heublein with his sickness.   Derrick was born in Burlington, Vermont and grew up in Milton, Vermont.

As they say (Only the Good Die Young)    And Derrick would have helped anyone out at the expense of his own.  In which he had done so many times for so many people.

Derrick was an extremely hard worker and anyone that knew him would say the same.

He spent his workdays enduring the back breaking work, That he had a love hate relationship with for so many years.  At the age of 13 he was logging with his uncle and worked his way through all the strongest and enduring jobs out there. any were from carpentry to Roofing to  tree work.   He broke his back every day to make ends meet and to give his family of 5 everything he could.    and i will always look at him as the strangest man i know, but of course he was my hero. I watched him every day and didn't understand why he would put himself through all the pain. but it was who he was. He was not the kind to do a light and kind type of job. Nor would he ever want it to be that easy......

and worked nonstop and did all he could to give them all he could provide.   He was a Grate father and loved his kids. and though he could not see his grandkids as much as he wanted.  He shore did talk about them as he already knew he would be so proud of each one of his kids and Grandkids.

He lived for them and hoped for one day to get to know them.  But his days were cut to short.         But He will always be OUR Superhero and will Alway's Remain to be the STRONGEST MAN WE have ever known.  And will never be too far away from his Favorite people in the world!  His Family.

His mother Shirley Nolan, With Spouse Cliff   from Montgomery, VT.    She had passed away suddenly,

Derrick had an older sister, Lisa Guyette and her husband Chad Guyette, Thay shared 3 boys and 1 girl, We Had a lot of fun times up at their place as a kid.  and i remember my dad always wanting to go up to see his sister. and so we could go hunting.

Derrick also had a brother Robbin Nolan with wife Teresa Nolan, From Mississippi,

He looked up to his brother and enjoyed it when they got to speak on the phone as often as they could.

And bonded as young men, as they would go out hunting, and enjoying the outdoors were Derrick thrived doing what he loved,

I know my dad Cherished the time's he had with his family.   ((Even though he wasn't on talking terms for a big part of his last few months of his life to some of you.))   However, if you knew my father and if you were family then you obviously know that he would of done whatever was needed from him...  He still loved ALL of his Family and would have done/been there for any of us at any GIVEN time, no matter where you were. Weather he had to walk or Hitched a Ride, He would have made it to you, without any kind of Hesitation.

Derrick had lost his father from an unexpected incident.  That accrued when Derrick was just a young Adult,

He lost his Father, Glen  Giffin, from Milton Vt.  When Derrick was only 18 years of age.  With his Frist daughter just being born before his father's passing.  Derrick spoke so very often of his father and loved telling us kids some of so many stories of our grandfathers, from his War stories to how they used to sit at the table after they had finished work and drank a beer together. I know that it was hard for Derrick after his dad passed.  Derrick struggled for many years with his dad's passing.

And becoming a first-time father himself, he struggled with out his dad there to help guide him through. Derrick has struggled for most of his life with many different things that would get thrown his way but, He had Braund shoulders. and always did what was needed to keep things going,

Even when he couldn't barely move, Yet only got 700$  a month to pay his way and yet, tried to live a better life before it was taken away so short.  I just want to give him what he deserves at least. and i just want my dad to get a proper Baierl!

He loved to show off his grandkids. and always wanted them to know how much he loved them. And would do anything for his kids to try to make them happy.

Derrick, loved to go hunting and fishing, spending all the time he could with good friends and lovely family that He cherished so much with his love. Derrick loved being outside, He loved his kids more than life itself, and looked at them as they were his life's  trophy's the one thing in life, he could be so proud of. He is a ex-husband to Sara Aiken Age 50 , his 3 childrens mother.   As well as a grandfather to 9 beautiful grand babies, that he so loved Yet did not get a chance to see very often. Due to the covid virus.  Derrick could not take the Chances, it could shorten his life even more than it was. and didn't want the kids to get covid. it was really hard for him, All he wanted was to see the kids all together. but because of the crazy life we are living today with the covid vires
