On October 10, 2021, Derrick Dibo Arrey passed from a tragic car accident while returning from work early in the morning; at only 18-years old, we lost a son, a brother, and a friend. On February 13, 2003, Derrick was born in Takoma Park, Maryland, and lived in Cameroon with his sister Jasmine, raised by their grandparents, aunts, and uncles. From a young age, this boy showed strength; he was always the jokester. His laughs were so contagious; even if you were upset with him, you couldn’t help but laugh, and Derrick was everyone’s favorite. Derrick returned with his sister to the U.S. on October 10, 2016, to reside with his mother. He completed middle school and did some high school before moving to Arizona to live with his dad to complete his final two years. Derrick graduated from American Leadership Academy on May 19 of 2021, and had dreams and aspirations of becoming a dentist. His death has shaken all of us, and our worlds will never be the same; he was a big part of our lives and will forever be in our hearts. This journey won’t be easy, but we know that God will surely see us through. May God bless you and repay you for your kindness towards our family at this difficult time.
